Shale Gas Legislation Awaits PA Governor's Signature
After several years of lawmaker wrangling, a bill that would establish an impact fee on gas extracted from shale formations has made its way to the desk of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett. In a close vote, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives voted 101-90 Feb. 10 in favor of bill allowing county governments to levy an impact fee on Marcellus shale gas producers.
